The dominos start to fall. [Jun 7, 2022]

I could tell by the phrases I received from the diver last night that he was likely Hispanic, I spent all last night drawing pictures and translating the labels on the drawings into Spanish. I also wrote up an explanation of the work I need and translated that into Spanish too. I’ll be set for his arrival. The morning goes by slowly, and soon it’s noon, I’m anxiously waiting. Noon turns into 1:00 pm and then 1:30, I send a text asking when he will arrive, but by 2:30 still no reply, I text again and wait, still nothing by 3:00. I call the number and get voice mail and leave a message. After a short time, I figure screw this, I’ll contact some of the other divers/companies I had found. I call them one by one, I tell them I’m in the middle of Lake Sylvia at anchor and need a diver, some say they can get to me in about 3 weeks, and others say ‘we can’t dive on a boat that isn’t tied up at a dock’. By 4:30 pm I get a call from an unknown Ft. Lauderdale telephone number, I answer the call and it is a guy who works with the guy who texts me. He tells me his boss came down with COVID and has been home sick since Sunday. He goes on to say that he will be finishing up a job Tuesday by noon and will be heading over to me right after that. I say OK and update my brother.
