Up at 6:00 am, made breakfast, next I listened to the Cruiser’s Net on channel 68, then after the net I sat there thinking about what today will be, besides another day in paradise… I decided that today I will start preparation for departing tomorrow. I’m heading north and visiting the Cays we missed on the way down. Absolutely necessary tasks; laundry, groceries, and trash dumping. All of which are on the other side of the harbor, so, do I stay here and dinghy across the harbor, getting soaking wet on the way back or move the boat closer to downtown, humm what to do, what to do… I weighted anchor, and motored closer to town, dropped the hook, loaded up the dinghy and off to town for the day. I spent 2 hours at the laundromat, 1 half-full washer, 1 dryer, $8.00. I have to stop and mention something here, I was asked to not go into the detail that I normally do. But this generation of adults (I’m being generous) who are in their thirties, I have no way to understand what, if anything goes on in their heads. Here is the abbreviated version, a young couple walks into the Laundromat, early thirties, the young female, was dressed in a string top and skin tight, as if they were painted on shorts. Imagine a completely nude female from the waste down, with shorts spray painted on the skin… anatomy in exacting detail. There were children at the laundromat for God’s sake, if I were raising my kids today, I’d take them out of a lot of places these days. Remember when kids were kids… they weren’t confronted with the anatomy of the opposite sex until they were 15 or 16, not 6 or 7. I don’t understand it, what do they think about when they get dressed, are they so oblivious to everything around them that all they see is themselves… I’ve got grandchildren, that is all I have to say about this.
Dumped the trash on the way into the Exuma Market, bought a bunch of stuff, some of which will be used in non-traditional ways… more on that as we develop the new recipes. Stay tuned.
